We encrypt data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest (AES‑256). Data is encrypted before it leaves your server, remains encrypted during transit and stays encrypted at rest on our cloud servers.

When you back up files—whether from a server or a workstation—the backup software first encrypts the data locally, turning it into unreadable code before it ever leaves your device. This means even if someone were to intercept your data during transmission to the cloud, they would not be able to make sense of it.

Once the encrypted data arrives at the cloud provider’s data centre, it stays encrypted while stored on their servers (known as encryption at rest). Only you or those you authorise, can access your information. This double layer of security—encryption in transit and at rest—prevents unauthorised access and is the same technology that militaries around the world use daily.

For individuals or small businesses mainly backing up documents, photos and essential files, a few hundred gigabytes (GB) is often sufficient. However, if you plan to back up large volumes of media files, high-resolution images, videos or entire system images, you may a terabyte (TB) or more of storage, as it’s important to consider not just your current data usage, but also how your storage need might grow over time.

However, most cloud storage platforms are not designed to provide data protection.
